Day FortyMileage- none (around Nevada City, sort of) Well, sorry for being so tardy, I seemed to have some kind of problem with a corrupt message or something. It was a real pain to try all I could to send and re-send the message. But, finally it worked, so now I can attempt my last 2 transmissions. I am not sure how this will all end, actually. Patrick has to get back to his job or they will likely fire him. Actually, he is going to be out of town or IS out of town and may not be able to finish this out for me. Not sure when, though, so it may be fine after all. Well, today I spent the while day shopping, No, really, it is part of what my sister does for a living as a costume designer. She and I drove into Sacramento (I call it "sack-of-tomatoes" after someone else used that phrase, forgotten who) to find some clothes and fabric for an upcoming show. By the way, you all must come to this beautiful part of Northern California, the gold Rush Country, and have a great weekend staying at a local Bed and Breakfast, eating some fine food, shopping at some wonderful shops and take in some fabulous theatre at The Foothill Theatre Company. Yes, this is a shameless plug for the theatre (my brother-in-law, Philip, is the Artistic Director and Clare designs several of the shows here), but it IS a great getaway. Anyway, I won't go into detail about the day's shopping escapades, except that is was really great to just spend a lot of time with my sister. We are closest in age and distance (only 2.5 hours away) and even like each other. So, it was good to see what she's up to these days. The drive from their wonderful part of this area is kinda nice, through some great 2-lane roads for about a half-an-hour, then just the interstate to Sacramento. I have never spent much time in the capital of California, and I have heard from her and some others that it is not too bad, it just has always been scorching hot whenever I have been there. This day was hot, too, but not horrible. This evening, Clare had to do some work at home, so Phil and I went to see the movie Kolya. A great film! You should see it, if you haven't, yet. We got to take Dylan to day care, too. Gee, what patience parents and day care providers must have! Right, all you parents out there?! I know that I am good with kids, been around them all my life, but sometimes when they don't do as you'd like, it is tough. I do love this little guy, though, and am very happy for all the time I can spend with him. He loves my motorcycle! He wants to get up on it and seems sad that the controls are too hard for him to twist, turn, push, etc. Someday I will take him for a ride. And, someday I will tell him about this wonderful trip. Now, I kinda want to get home. Tomorrow is the big day. Later...
